Behind the Music

​Carlos Taboada (b. 1999) is a multi-faceted musician from Dallas, TX. Known for his engaging melodies and his haunting sounds inspired by jazz and classical music, Carlos Taboada has always aimed to lift people's hearts with music.​

 

A composer first, his compositions range from orchestral pieces, to jazz charts, to film scores. He has composed works for ESPN, University of Michigan Philharmonia Orchestra, and for short and feature films. Carlos Taboada has also recorded, produced, and distributed various albums under his own name on popular streaming platforms.

 

A saxophonist, EWI player, and pianist, Carlos Taboada has performed in concerts and gigs across the country.​

Carlos Taboada has collaborated with numerous artists and musicians, such as award-winning singer Harrison Craig and internet star Julian Cianciolo.​

​

A Wolverine at heart, Carlos Taboada holds a BM in Composition, a BFA in Jazz Studies, and an MM in Composition from the University of Michigan. His mentors include Michael Daugherty, Kristen Kuster, Roshanne Etezady, Andrew Bishop, and Erik Santos.
